The duration for B.Ed course is 2 years regular (full time) running into four semesters. Students can pursue B.Ed after completing graduation or post graduation from a recognized university or institution. 

The Bachelor of Education program, normally known as B.Ed., is a professional course that prepares teachers for upper primary or middle level (classes VI-VIII), secondary level (classes IX-X) and senior secondary level (classes XI-XII).

  • The total duration of B.Ed course will be 1 year (2 semesters) as usual. Most colleges and universities follow this duration as per NCTE guidelines.
  • Each semester will be of 6 months duration with classes held 5 days a week. The academic session usually starts in June/July every year.
  • In addition to class instruction, the course also includes practice teaching, observation of school classes, projects, seminars etc. There is a fixed number of practice teaching hours that need to be completed.
  • The final B.Ed exam will be held after 2 years of completion of the course. Results are declared within 2 months after exams.
  • Some integrated B.Ed courses may have a duration of 2 years instead of 1 year. But this is applicable only to a few universities.
  • No changes are expected in the regular B.Ed course duration of 2 academic years in 2024 as per the latest NCTE norms. The duration and structure generally remain the same.

Candidates with at least 50% marks either in the Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Science/Social Sciences/ Humanities, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science & Mathematics with 55% marks. 5% relaxation for SC/ST candidate. + UP JEE B.Ed Counselling

UP B.Ed Admission 2024

B. Ed admission in UP takes place through the UP B.Ed JEE 2024 for which the registration has already started on Feb 10th 2024. The last date for form submission is April 5th & with late fees is April 10th 2024. 

The tentative date for the UP B.Ed JEE 2024 is April 24th 2024 as per the notification released by Bundelkhand University (BU) Jhansi the conducting authority for this year’s exam. 

Students should visit the official website of Bundelkhand University to apply for UP B.Ed JEE 2024 counselling as there is still ample time for the application.

B.ed Course Fees

For doing the 2 years duration B.Ed course candidates in UP will have to dole out approximately INR 51200 as 1st year fees while Government colleges charge around INR 15000 as 1st year fees.

Government colleges have subsidized fees while self financing colleges have higher fees because they don’t receive any subsidy from the Government. Further, many colleges offer a range of scholarships to help students realize their professional dreams.
