On the occasion of World AIDS Day the students of VIMS along with VGI Meerut organized a Poster making competition & conducted a Red Ribbon AIDS awareness rally.
Through this they informed about AIDS prevention & submitted a memorandum to the President of India.
Further, we organized a national seminar on AIDS symptoms, its detection & cure where in over a dozen Doctors took part.
The Group Chairman Dr Sudhir Giri, Pro chancellor Dr Rajiv Tyagi, in charge VC Dr Rakesh Yadav, & the Registrar Dr Piyush Pandey inaugurated the events by lighting a lamp to Goddess Saraswati.
The Principal of Nursing, Dr Ana Brown, & the Dean Academics Dr Sanjiv Bhatt assisted them in inaugurating the world AIDS day seminar.
In his address, the group Chairman Dr Sudhir Giri informed that with the help of the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) we are quite successful in preventing this deadly disease.
As Doctors/Nurses/Paramedics, we have increased responsibility to prevent AIDS. We will work along with Government & NGO’s spreading awareness about this pandemic.
The chief Speaker & renowned Virologist Dr Namita Jaggi stated AIDS is one of the most dangerous non curable disease in the world.
Every year lakhs lose their life because of the absence of effective cure or vaccination against it.
Dr Rajiv Tyagi elaborated that for preventing AIDS the role of medical/paramedical & nursing professionals is crucial because they are frontline healthcare professionals.
Dr Rakesh Yadav, Dr Piyush Pandey, Dr Ana Brown, & Dr Sanjiv Bhatt also addressed the seminar.
Those present included the Meerut Campus Director Dr Pratap Singh, Dr Rajesh Singh, Alka Singh, Dr C P Kushwaha, Dr Manik Tyagi, Dr Ikram Elahi, Shilpi Kashyap, and Kuldeep & Sanjeev Kumar.
Also present were Mahima, Sarita, Pooja Eri, Pratibha, Reena Negi, Neema Bisht, Himanshi, Pooja, Vaishali, Nimsha, Sakshi, Neha, Yashi, Arun Kumar, and S S Baghel.
