World Earth Day
Shri Venkateshwara University/VGI Meerut organized a mega plantation & environment conservation campaign on the occasion of World Earth day.
On world earth day, senior RSS functionary & Panchjanya Editor Mr. Pramod Kaushik pledged people for environmental conservation & stop the indiscriminate exploitation of natural resources.
Mr. Pramod Kaushik, Venkateshwara Group Chairman Dr Sudhir Giri, Pro-chancellor Dr Rajiv Tyagi, inaugurated the campaign by lighting a lamp to Goddess Saraswati.
They were assisted by Mr. Amit Giri Chairman Siddhivinayak Group of Institutions Meerut & the VC Prof P K Bharti.
In his address, Mr. Pramod Kaushik highlighted that climate change & overexploitation of nature has led to global warming.
The average temperature in April is hovering between 48 to 50 degrees.
This way, the world is heading for disaster. We should plant enough trees for conserving the nature.
Dr Sudhir Giri stressed that if we don’t pay attention to plantation and nature conservation in time, then there will be serious consequences.
Dr Rajiv Tyagi said that we should pledge not only for plantation but for their lifelong conservation.
Plantation drive on world earth day
On this occasion they planted in the campus over 500 fruit bearing shady plants by taking out a rally stressing environmental protection & conservation.
Environment conservation is crucial because it will render mother Earth livable for future generations.
Planting more trees will mitigate pollution because trees release fresh air indispensable for healthy life.
Those present included the Registrar Dr Piyush Pandey, Dean Applied Science Dr C P Kushwaha, Meerut Campus Director & Dr Prabhat Srivastava,
Director of Admissions Alka Singh & the Director Admin Dr Rakesh Yadav were also present at the event.
