Shri Venkateshwara University honored Aza Khan for winning Gold at the National Tug of War Championship held at Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh.
Aza Khan is the Captain of the National Tug of War team & an MBA student of the University.
Mr. Pema Khandu, the CM of Arunachal Pradesh, and Mr. Kiran Rijiju, the Cabinet Minister of Earth Sciences and Environment, honored Aza Khan and her team with a gold medal and trophy.
They won Gold at the National Tug of War championship that concluded last week.
Aza Khan has won over 4 dozen medals, including 8 Golds at various national & international Tug of War championships.
The University officials held a ceremonial welcome for Aza Khan by gifting a turban & memento to the winning champion.
The Group Chairman Dr Sudhir Giri, Pro Chancellor Dr Rajiv Tyagi & other dignitaries, inaugurated the felicitation ceremony by lighting a lamp to Goddess Saraswati.
The Group Chairman Dr Sudhir Giri getting inspired by the PM’s Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Beti Khilao scheme, announced Shri Venkateshwara University will provide free of cost education to Aza Khan.
In addition, he announced a complete sponsorship for the upcoming World Tug of War Championships in Germany, along with Rs 4 lakhs..
He reiterated girls are winning more medals than boys in various national & international championships and making the nation proud.
Moreover, Dr. Rajiv Tyagi, the Pro Chancellor, commended SVU student Vishwajeet Sheoran for becoming an IAS officer after clearing UPSC. Further, sports persons who have won several medals in national and international events are bringing glory to the nation on the world stage.
