Shri Venkateshwara University, VGI Meerut & the UP Transport department jointly organized a mega tree plantation drive cum oath ceremony & exhorted all to plant more trees for a cleaner environment.
They also encouraged to discard polythene for protecting the environment for future generations.
The Venkateshwara Group Founder President Dr Sudhir Giri, Pro Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi & the CG Mrs. Babita Verma inaugurated the event by lighting a lamp to Goddess Saraswati.
The CEO, Mr. Ajay Shrivastava, & the VC Dr Krishna Kant Dave joined them to unveil the tree plantation drive cum oath ceremony.
In this context, the Venkateshwara Group, along with the Transport dept. planted 2700 saplings.
We planted them in the University campus & on both sides of the national highway & pledged to conserve them for environment protection.
The College Management along with Mrs. Babita Verma, Assistant Transport Officer (Administration) UP Govt. planted Banyan, Parijat, Tulsi, Peepal, Aanwla, Neem, Jamun, Rudraksha, Bail & many medicinal & shade giving plants.
The students & staff, along with the dignitaries, pledged to conserve them for protecting the environment.
The Venkateshwara Group Founder President Dr Sudhir Giri reiterated lets pledge to gift plants on social occasions like birth, marriage anniversary & cultural events & realize honorable PM’s dream of a Clean India Green India.
This way, we can contribute to our part in the nation’s growth and development.
While speaking at the seminar about the importance of trees for Mother Earth, the Chief Guest and Transport Officer, UP Transport Dept. Mrs. Babita Verma, emphasized that the primary reason for global warming and climate change is the detachment of sophisticated and educated individuals from nature.
We should conserve and promote nature only then development without destruction is possible.
She further said the Venkateshwara Group is known not only for excellent education but for promoting social causes as well.
For safeguarding the environment, every individual should plant more trees to curb global warming and pollution.
Moreover, the Pro Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi affirmed tree plantation drive is the most effective solution to stop global warming & environment pollution.
Those present included the Chief Advisor Dr VPS Arora, Group Advisor Mr. RS Sharma, Registrar Dr Piyush Pandey, Dr Rajesh Singh, Dr Divya Girdhar, Dr Dinesh Gautam, Dr Neetu Panwar & Dr Yogeshwar Sharma.
Further, Dr SN Sahu, Dr Rajwardhan, Dr Anil Kumar Jaiswal, Dr RN Jha, Dr Ram Kumar, Saumik Banerjee, Mr. SS Baghel, Arun Goswami, Maroof Chaudhary, Vishal Sharma, Sanjeev Pal & Mr. Ram Gupta were all present.
The Meerut Campus Director, Dr Pratap Singh, was present along with the Media Incharge, Mr. Vishwas Rana, among others.
