Madam Maneka Gandhi to visit Shri Venkateshwara University
Renowned Environmentalist & former Cabinet Minister Madam Maneka Gandhi will visit Shri Venkateshwara University next month.
The Pro Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi met renowned Environmentalist & former Cabinet Minister Madam Maneka Gandhi at her residence.
Madam Maneka Gandhi is the Chairperson of People for Animals, a reputed NGO that works to protect stray animals like cows, dogs and the likes.
Dr Rajeev Tyagi informed her about the various animal care programs Shri Venkateshwara University is running for the wellbeing of abandoned cows, dogs, bull, etc.
He informed that as directed by Dr Sudhir Giri Chancellor Shri Venkateshwara University; we are planning to start a special cell for abandoned animals where these animals will be taken proper care of.
Moreover, she praised Shri Venkateshwara University’s animal welfare efforts. She noted the university’s commendable work with stray animals, besides its educational and social initiatives.
People for Animals is grateful for their efforts and its international wing will set up a shelter home next month at Shri Venkateshwara University.
The Venkateshwara Group Founder President, Dr Sudhir Giri, reiterated Madam Maneka Gandhi is doing such a noble work for animals that there is no comparison of her work.
Moreover, Shri Venkateshwara University will work alongside her organization for the welfare of abandoned animals.

The Pro Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi announced soon we will establish an active cell of People for Animals at Shri Venkateshwara University. This cell will work for the welfare of stray animals of UP west, especially those of the Meerut/Moradabad area.
Those present included the VC Dr Krishna Kant Dave, Registrar Dr Piyush Pandey, Rohan Tyagi & Kashish Tyagi from Animal Lover Foundation, & the Academic Dean Dr Rajesh Singh.
