Shri Venkateshwara University/VGI Meerut organized a mega Yoga Camp on the occasion of International Yoga Day.
Over 7500 students of Meerut/Gajraula campus, along with renowned Yogacharyas, administrators & diplomats, took part in the yoga festival marking international yoga day.
It is memorable, as it marks the 75th anniversary of our independence because we are celebrating our anniversary in a big way.
Dr Sudhir Giri Chairman Venkateshwara Group along with the Chief Guest & President IHF Mr Devendra Pratap Tomar, renowned Hath yogi Jitanand Maharaj & the Pro-chancellor Dr Rajiv Tyagi inaugurated the event at the Major Dhyanchand sports complex by lighting a lamp to Goddess Saraswati.
VC Prof. P K Bharti, reputed Yoga Trainer Filipa Vienna, Mr Shiv Kr Giri, Mr Amit Giri, Pramod Kaushik, Rakesh Jain, and Bajranglal Gupta among others assisted them.
Senior IPS & DG Haryana Police Corporation Dr R C Mishra, Yoga Guru Dr N A Shah, Dr Anand Vardhan of Ayush Ministry along with renowned national & international luminaries took part in the Yoga Camp.
Later on, Jitanand Maharaj, Dr N A Shah, European trainer Filipa Vienna, along with Dr Anand Vardhan, displayed wonderful yoga acts that left the crowd mesmerizing. There acts convinced masses that Yoga is a complete solution to all problems because it has postures curing various ailments
Priti Pal of the University’s Yoga Department performed Shirshasan for 59 minutes & 23 seconds & staked a claim for being recorded in the Guinness book.
International Yoga Day attracted a mega gathering
Those present included the Registrar Dr Piyush Pandey, Director Academics Dr Rakesh Yadav, Meerut Campus Director Dr Prabhat Srivastava, Dr Pratap Singh & Dr Alka Singh.
