Importance of New Criminal Law

The School of Law at Shri Venkateshwara University/Institute hosted a one-day seminar on the importance of New Criminal Law 2023, aiming to educate students about the recent criminal laws implemented on July 1st, 2024.

University Professors, lawmakers & judges from different parts of the country explained the significance of new criminal laws & their application in today’s time.

Moreover, a dozen law experts from Lucknow, Meerut, Bengaluru, Dehradun, Chandigarh, Delhi & Bhopal took part in the seminar.

The Venkateshwara Group Founder President Dr Sudhir Giri, CG & District Judge Mr. Zafeer Ahmed, & the Pro Chancellor Dr Rajeev Tyagi inaugurated the event by lighting a lamp to Goddess Saraswati.

The CJM Mr. Ompal Singh, VC Dr Krishna Kant Dave, Lawmaker Prof. Sanjeev Chadda, & Prof Hari Shankar Rai Senior Prof Meerut College joined them to unveil the seminar on the Importance of New Criminal Law 2023.

District Judge  & Chief Guest Mr. Zafeer Ahmed asserted old criminal laws devised by the British gave the benefit of doubt to the culprit & harassed victims by delaying justice to them.

The new criminal laws will provide speedy justice to the victims, ultimately increasing their trust in the judiciary.

Meerut College Professor & Keynote Speaker Dr HS Rai affirmed the new criminal laws will provide speedy justice to the victims, which will increase their trust in the judicial system.

Seminar on the Importance of New Criminal Laws

Moreover, Dr Sanjeev Kumar Chaddha HOD Law, Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Central Law University, emphasized that the old criminal laws would harass the common man and favoured organized criminals by giving them the benefit of doubt.

Further, they failed to provide speedy and timely justice to the victims.

Those present included the Dean of Law faculty, Dr Rajwardhan, Dr Shyam Lal, Dr Samir Dwivedi, Ashok Kumar & Muskan Gangwar.

Moreover, the Registrar Dr Piyush Pandey, Dr Rajesh Singh, Dr Divya Girdhar, Dr Ashutosh Singh, Prof TP Singh, Dr VN Jha, Dr Neetu Panwar, Dr Yogeshwar Sharma, Dr Anil Jaiswal & Dr Dinesh Gautam were all present.

Further, the Meerut Campus Director, Dr Pratap Singh, was present along with the Media Incharge, Mr. Vishwas Rana, among others.
