On the occasion of World Health day (April 7), the Venkateshwara Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS), Shri Venkateshwara University along with VGI Meerut organized a 5 day Health Awareness week which culminated on April 11th.
For spreading health awareness, the health awareness week included health awareness rally, poster making, health seminar, street plays, quiz & over a dozen events banishing drugs & female foeticide.
The Group Chairman Dr Sudhir Giri, Pro Chancellor Dr Rajiv Tyagi, Dean Academics Dr Sanjiv Bhatt, and Abhinav Giri, inaugurated the closing ceremony by lighting a lamp to Goddess Saraswati.
Major Dr Vinay Kumar, & Col. Dr Atul Verma also assisted them in inaugurating the event.
The Group Chairman, Dr Sudhir Giri & the Pro chancellor Dr Rajiv Tyagi, felicitated the winners by presenting them memento & a certificate.
In his address, the Group Chairman Dr Sudhir Giri asserted that because of the brilliant leadership of our Honorable PM the common man can avail world class healthcare facilities.
Moreover, the Pro chancellor, Dr Rajiv Tyagi, announced that along with cities, the Venkateshwara Group is establishing health centers in rural areas to provide free of cost medical services to the poor.
Further, Dr Sanjiv Bhatt reiterated our medical students are spreading health awareness in the rural areas.
Those present included the CEO Ajay Shrivastava, CMO Dr I B Raju, Officiating VC Dr Rakesh Yadav, Registrar Dr Piyush Pandey, and the Meerut Campus Director Dr Pratap Singh.
Also present were Dr B S Tyagi, Dr Mohsin Bilal, Dr Seema Gupta, Dr Shalini Gupta, Dr Rahul Sharma, Dr Pratik Bajwa Dr Amritesh, Dr Kulkarni & the Media In charge Mr. Vishwas Rana among others.
