Why overthinking is bad

Share

Overthinking is bad because it questions your reasoning & one keeps dwelling over an issue.

This leads to stress & even causes’ nervous breakdown.

With a fast-paced life, people encounter many instances where they have to take critical decisions.

Whether we take 2 minutes or days, the decision is a yes or no.

In power production, the first thought is the real thought because our brains are smart enough to analyze & give the right decision.

Many diseases develop because of lifestyle & psychological problems, as we overthink & ignore the correct option.

Quick decision making is a vital because it is critical in a crux situation.

All competitive & placement tests are time bound because they measure a candidate’s accuracy in timed situations.

By taking timely decision destiny decides the moment of life & death because humans are just minor players in this vast universe.

Overthinking is the root cause of stress because it questions your ability to take the right decision.

Corporations value quick decision takers because business volatility compels timely action.

Companies without an online presence are losing business because they have a limited reach while online orders can come from overseas too.

In our life, we face many instances where timely decisions have to be taken because time is money.

While short-listing, we evaluate surplus useless options while our intuition has already shortlisted the best option. This happens because of overthinking.

Definitely analyzing is important, but when our instinct has decided the best option, we should not spoil the choice by overthinking.

Why overthinking is bad for time management

While answering MCQ, we encounter questions with 2 probable answers, which we solve by eliminating the unsuitable ones & zeroing on the best choice.

While answering our intuition & knowledge helps us complete the best option because our first thought gives us the correct option.

If we overthink, we may mark the wrong answer because we have spent way too much time finding the answer.

Paper setters plan MCQ in a way that students find an answer within the stipulated time. By overthinking we are going against the notion & will probably select the wrong option.

While solving spotting errors in English, we overthink & choose the incorrect option. The trick is to read the question in a flow.

70% of the errors one notices in first reading & is the correct answer.

By overthinking, we make our processes complex because we are exploring too many options. When buying online, we search through various options, while we have already shortlisted the best option.

The first choice is the best choice. India is a cricketing nation where people praise cricketers as public icons because they have a huge fan following.

While playing a shot in double minds, batsmen gets out because he lacked quick decision in a nix of time.

This resulted in a poor shot & he loses the wicket. The player was weighing many options & wasted time leading to wicket loss.

Life & business is all about grabbing opportunities because there is competition everywhere. Companies want employees to close deals quickly, otherwise competitor will influence your customer & win contracts.

Don’t explore useless options

By wasting precious time, exploring useless options will cause business loss because customers value companies’ favoring buying intent.

Analysts attribute the rise of ecommerce giants like Amazon, Flip kart & Snap deal to interpreting buying persons because customers lose interest in useless options. These companies show products keeping in mind buying history because AI decodes a customer’s buying habit.

I have decoded in my experience of over 2 decades that the first option we select is optimal because our brains ideally select the best option.

By overthinking we just spoil the game & many times select the option which later troubles in life.

Chronic overthinking may cause serious problems like depression, anxiety, & sleep disorders, which downgrades our health.

Overthinking causes inaction because you keep dwelling leading to worries & anxieties.

To avoid overthinking, one should be positive & take the first decision that is workable in any situation.

We can counter overthinking through Nike’s punch line Just Do it, which means you have made the correct choice, just materialize it.

In wars nations taking quick decisions dominate because they cannot waste time exploring futile options.

During the pandemic, many people were in double minds regarding vaccination because there were rumors about vaccine efficacy. Many people avoided vaccination because overthinking prevented them from taking action, making them vulnerable to disease.
