The scope of the pharmacy is bright & growing because new viruses are engulfing mankind, requiring effective vaccines for their neutralization.

In the earlier times when millions perished because of smallpox, & plague pharmacists endured to develop vaccines for them.

As long as humanity is there, there will be a tremendous scope of pharmacy because they devise & administer drugs.

Over the years, the scope of pharmacy has grown because India established itself as a leading bulk drug producer.

We can gauge the importance of pharmacy from the fact that the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has allowed colleges to increase Pharma seats.

Pharmacy courses allow a pharmacist to become self-employed by opening their retail pharmacy.

Even in lockdown, the pharmacies were open because they dispense lifesaving drugs.

We can acknowledge the scope of pharmacy from the eligibility of becoming a pharmacist.

Anyone with 10+2 in PCM/PCB is eligible for the pharmacy course because physics & chemistry is mandatory for becoming a pharmacist.

India is booming with new inventions & self-sufficiency in many fields has augmented people’s income.

This fast-paced sedentary lifestyle has fueled ailments like hypertension & diabetes because people cannot spare time for exercise.

Diabetics require regular insulin dosages because they control the disease. Similarly, hypertension requires consistent dosage otherwise, the patient cannot perform his work.

Pharmacists research to develop cost effective drugs that provide relief because patients want quick relief from their suffering.

These & many other reasons highlight the immense scope of pharmacy because health is wealth for all.

The scope of pharmacy is bright because pharmacists are a vital link between the Doctor & patient. These professionals introduce new drugs & inform their usage in various indications because they develop them.

What is the scope of Pharmacy in India

India is the leading producer of generic drugs & vaccines because we have the technical manpower & low production costs.

India is being regarded as the pharmacy of the world because it’s one of our major sources of foreign exchange.

Lot of medications have become retail products because of their availability at pharmacy stores.

The pharmacy store is indispensable because, even in lockdown, they served their patients with dedication & care.

Many patients cannot survive because their bodies demand regular drug which the pharmacists provide. It’s an evergreen field with tremendous scope because more viruses will attack us in the future.

The global warming effect, manmade pollution, is fueling health issues because we are overexploiting nature. This fosters viruses like corona which are lethal, requiring pharmacists to innovate their cure.

India is the largest milk producer with 22% market share because our vast population requires more milk.

This demand for milk has nurtured a growing dairy industry because it provides quick returns, unlike in agriculture.

The white revolution has augmented income by providing a stable income source because consuming milk is customary in Indian culture.

This urge for better yield prompts farmers to exploit the natural cycle of milching animals, leading to diseases in animals.

This fosters scope for pharmacy because dairy owners are grappling with sick animals, which increases their cost of doing business.

Diversified Pharma market

A Pharma retailer makes a good profit by selling animal medicines because dairies are increasing exponentially.

A Veterinary Doctor is the professional that treats animals because they have expertise in curing animals.

The veterinary medicine market opens up tremendous opportunities for Pharma retailers because animals suffer from many ailments.

These developments have strengthened the scope of pharmacy because for life medicines are indispensable. The GOI’s Jan Aushidhi Kendra has provided employment to many because they dispense lifesaving drugs at nominal rates.

India is one of the largest Pharma markets in the world because of its burgeoning middle class having good purchasing power.

Many Pharma MNCs are setting up R & D centers because the government has incentivized them for ramping production.

This augments the scope of the pharmacy because they will hire pharmacy graduates in various departments.

India with 60% young population is striving for glory because its youth have good technical knowledge fostering innovation.

The scope of pharmacy is brilliant because the Corona pandemic has reinforced calls for innovative drugs that guard against viruses.

The GOI Rs. 17000 crores production linked incentive (PLI) scheme encourages local manufacturing for self-sufficiency.

Such a scheme has brightened the scope of pharmacy courses because more manufacturing will promote jobs for pharmacists.

Ayurveda medicines are further improving the scope of pharmacy because people prefer Ayurveda drugs in large numbers.

Many Ayurveda drugs are OTC because people purchase them from pharmacy stores, further supplementing pharmacist’s income.

As long as mankind is surviving, we require drug innovators that devise drugs because they are vital for life.
